OUR STORY

Salem Yoga & Mindfulness was founded in the spring of 2018 with the goal of growing the local Salem-area yoga community and making yoga accessible for everyBODY. 


We offer a variety of classes for adults, teens and kids. Whether you are an experienced yoga practitioner, an athlete looking to improve your game, or brand new to yoga and wanting to enhance your physical and mental well-being, Salem Yoga & Mindfulness provides a welcoming and friendly environment with something for everyone.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

POWER YOGA BASICS

This class is designed for all experience levels.  It will introduce you to the concept of connecting breath with movement and help improve focus and concentration.

Lotus Pose

POWER YOGA

A fitness-based approach to the Vinyasa style of yoga. This class focuses on linking conscious breath with mindful movement. Students will build strength, flexibility and concentration while cleansing the body and calming the mind.  Perfect for athletes or anyone looking for a more vigorous practice.

Practicing Yoga

GENTLE YOGA

Challenge the body and mind through strengthening, stretching, relaxing and breathing.  Props, including chairs, will be offered for more support.

Yoga at Home

KIDS YOGA

These classes take a fun, creative approach to yoga that encourages kids to explore and discover the mind and body.

Yoga Mats

ALL-LEVELS YOGA FLOW

Integrating movement and breath, this class is aimed at the seasoned beginners and regular practitioners. We will introduce some twists, some backbends, as well as approachable inversions. Be prepared to explore both beginning and intermediate poses. Modifications are given allowing the students to choose a more beginning or more advanced practice according to their needs

Hatha Yoga

YIN YOGA

Poses are held for 3-5 minutes, props are optional.  This class will get deep into the ligaments and tendons, releasing fascia and tense muscles.  The stillness of this class allows the mind to slow down and quiet, while the practitioner focuses on the slow, steady rhythm of breath.

Shavasana

CREATIVE FLOW

A twist on the Basics!  This class builds on the foundation of our Yoga Basics class by adding new poses and more modifications.  Great for beginners, however, we suggest brand new practitioners attend a Yoga Basics class first.

Yoga Stretch

EARLY BIRD FLOW

An early morning, 45 minute version of our power basics class.  Come wake up with us!
